#12 Rollyo

Exploring the wide blue yonder for tools that might be used for libraries. Found a little 30sec creative tool using flicker images and new music (flutterby)30 seconds OK for copyright. Pretty but slow loading this would put users off but might be able to do a quick training tool with it. I am becoming concerned about the the rubbish that comes down with these programs . The reason they are free is to place advertising this could create security problems with library It departments and we would have little control over the type of advertisements.
Rollyo too could be very useful because you can focus the area that is searched but once again free access brings irritating sponsored links. Does this mean that libraries like sporting teams will have to find placement for their sponsors if we are to compete /cooperate /create with the many information services out there. I see librarians in uniforms with logo's or little banners in the corner of blogs and web pages (lets face it it is happening already) Jaded Jane
